30 Sep 2011 I haven't had a severe 'flare-up' of ulcerative colitis since I have been taking mesalizine but I find the side effects really out-weigh the benefits. My daily activities are interrupted more from the severe side effects of mesalizine than the occasional flare-up of colitis.

07 Jul 2010 I was prescribed mesalazine for colitis. Initially my condition improved but could have been improving anyway. Since taking it, I have always been tired and weak. I have some bouts of dizziness and numbness in my hand/finger. I reduce the dosage and improved. When I increased the dosage my condition worsened.

25 Mar 2010 After I started taking Mesalazine together with Decortine ,the condition became better.I finished the therapy and after a few days the colitis has come back,complete remission of the decease. Now the situation is the worst.I am taking 3000 mg mesalazine per day.I have very strong abdominal pain,bloody diarrhea all the time,heartbeat,muscle cramping,gas etc. I am afraid that the Mesalazine does not doing its function and in my case I think that the side effects has been taking in action.

14 Mar 2010 From feeling well and only being told I wasn't after a colonoscopy, I now feel bloated most of the time, have shortness of breath and pain under my ribcage.
