The active ingredient of Synthroid is levothyroxine sodium thyroid hormone.

29 Jul 2010 Perhaps, the reason why I di not notive the difference after taking this medication was because I did not need it. My blood levels for thyroid started to stabalized but the blood work can done every 6 months. Also, I did not take the medication consistantly and thus the results are not accurate.

22 Jul 2010 I have had no side effects from the drug, and would not even notice that I am taking it except for the fact that my thyroid levels have improved since beginning the regimen.

09 Jul 2010 Doctor described this for me for my hypothyroidism and it has helped my tiredness, and bowel movements, and this medication doesnt give me any side effects.

08 Jul 2010 Like it, but wish there was something a little better. I feel like I should have lost more weight with synthroid, but instead, nothing ever changed after I went hypo from being hyperthyroid.
