User Comments about Lymecycline
28 Jan 2012 Although my skin has improved the side effects are not worth it I also feel I haven't been monitored adequately or warned about the dangers of this drug. I have jaundice, feel depressed and have suicidal thoughts, I have developed migranes and muscle cramps and twitches.

14 Jan 2012 Since I was about 20 (I am now 23) I have gradually began getting more spots. At the teens I had a few now and again but these weren't too bad. By 22, I was getting quite sore an inflamed spots under the skin in all areas of the face, but more so the chin area. These could last a week and sometimes hatched other times never did. I asked the doctor for an antibiotic as topicals weren't helping much and just made the skin flakier. After being on Tetralysal (Lymecycline) for a couple of weeks I had a vast improvement and the spots are now fully gone apart from the odd tiny whitehead which is only there for a day or so maximum. I took these for 3 months. I'm now just off them and am really worried they might return. If it didn't affect my health, I would happily pop one of these pills each morning for the rest of my life just for the ability to be normal, with no disgusting and sore acne!!

20 Nov 2011 I would have thought 3 months is a long enough trial, I don't think therefore that this one is going to work for you... Have you tried anything else? If this is the next in a long list of "things to try" then can I suggest that you go back to your GP and ask for a dermatology referral. There is a drug called Roaccutane ( you may have heard of it) Yes, its strong and Yes, it does have side effects, but it is effective against acne when all else has failed. It is taken over a period of 16 weeks ( i think) and you will be very carefully monitored during this time. It is only available from a Dermatologist (so no good asking ur GP to prescribe it) It will initially make your face very red and ur skin very dry, but this is a good side effect (means its working) Let is know how you get on...
