Common Uses:

This medication is used in prevention of pregnancy.

Off Label Uses:

The Off lable Uses of this medication is, It may also be used to regulate the menstrual cycle.

Side Effects:
Breast tenderness or enlargement;
Changes in appetite;
Changes in weight;
Dizziness;
Headache;
Mild hair loss;
Nausea;
Nervousness;
Stomach cramps or bloating;
Vaginal spotting or breakthrough bleeding.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not advisable in people who are allergic to any ingredient in Microgestin Fe 1/20;
Not advisable in people who are pregnant or think you may be pregnant;
Not advisable in people have or have ever had abnormal growth or cancer of the breast, cervical or uterine cancer;
Not advisable in people have liver disease, liver tumors, or yellowing of the eyes or skin;
Not advisable in people are currently taking acitretin, aprepitant, barbiturates.

Drug Interactions:
Acitretin, aprepitant, azole antifungals (eg, ketoconazole), barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital);
Beta-blockers (eg, metoprolol), cyclosporine, theophyllines, or troleandomycin;
Corticosteroids (eg, prednisone);
Oral anticoagulants (eg, warfarin);
Lamotrigine.

14 Nov 2012	I have been on Microgestin Fe for about 3 months now. I haven't had too many side effects so far. I did initially experience some very mild spotting and breakthrough bleeding during the first few weeks, but it has lightened my periods significantly. I have also been experiencing moderate hair loss, but nothing noticeable (except that I'm constantly picking hair off of my clothing). 03 Nov 2012	I started using Microgestin in September 2012, I had few side effects at the time. I started bleeding 2 weeks after starting the pill and continued bleeding for 3 weeks. I then stopped bleeding for 2 weeks and started having more severe side effects such as blurred vision, dizziness, and nausea. I called my doctor and she told me to stop taking the pill. I stopped taking the pill 3 days ago and still feel the same way, I plan to go to my family doctor to ask if this is all normal. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PILL!!! 14 Jun 2012	I switched from Yaz, because of the increased blood clot warning. I started using Microgestin FE and got depressed (nothing major in my life had changed) I had so much irritiblity that it was hard for me to hold a conversation with anyone without getting annoyed with them. I got MAJOR bloating the week before and during my period, and my breasts were so sore for 2 weeks. The only thing I did like, was the fact that it didn't feel like it increased my appetite and I felt like I lost weight/water retention the first couple weeks of taking the pill after I switched from Yaz. 25 Mar 2011	I have used Microgestin FE before and the only problem I had has the morning sickness. If I ate when I took the pill it was often much better, after the first month I had no more side effects. after about 6-8 months I had to go up a dose. 23 Feb 2011	I'm pleased with this drug. Over time, the initial light dosage loses its effect, so you may have to progress to stronger doses.
