User Comments about Vyvanse
24 Jul 2010 I've been plagued by severe clinical depression, anxiety and bipolar disorders for 20 years. I've been prescribed several combinations of medications but have had very few periods of relief. Seven months ago, I again sought out psychiatric help for my depression and was diagnosed with adult ADD. In addition to 60mg Cymbalta, 100mg Lamictal, I was prescribed 50mg Vyvanse. Within 40 minutes, my crying stopped, my sense of desperation eased and for the first time in years, I had energy to function effectively through my day. Since I'm bipolar, I think the Vyvanse triggered a slight manic period, but that leveled off after 10 days. As with any medication, Vyvance alone isn't a cure-all; it seemed to loose some of its initial effectiveness after 1-2 months. But, it's made enough of a difference in my emotional/mental health that I have the energy now to work on and improve the behavioral and psychological issues of my disorder(s).

09 Jun 2010 Vyvanse is the best medication I have tried for ADD. I have some insomnia, which I could deal with and which may go away over time. I have taken the drug for 9 days now. My major problem is urgency to urinate, frequent urination and no relief. This awful feeling I will not be able to abide. I have submitted a sample to check for a UTI, but I probably don't have one. I noticed that those symptoms disappeared completely when I did not take a Vyvanse for a day and returned immediately when I did take one the next day. I will be very disappointed if this symptom can not be resolved, because I would love to continue taking it for managing ADD.

07 Jun 2010 I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) around 3-4 years ago, and since then have tried various dosages of Strattera, Adderall, and Vyvanse. I now take 30 mg of Vyvanse a day and cannot get over the increase in my productivity. I honestly have a love-hate relationship with the medicine. When I don't take it I notice a marked difference in my overall quality of life: I'm lazier, have less motivation, feel depressed, and the thought of accomplishing required every day tasks seems like such a burden. However, when I take it, I accomplish all my goals and feel more alert. Since it lasts for 8 hours, the worst part of the medicine is the 1-2 hour come down period where I feel like "the life has been sucked out of me." But, once I get past that period it is usually in the evening and I can just relax and feel happy that I had a normal, productive day. Overall, the medication has greatly helped, aside from some side effects that you learn to just work around.
