30 Mar 2011 It's my favorite! Non-addictive, no side effects and it always makes me feel better the longer I'm on it. It's the best anti-depressant, anxiety help I could ever think of. Plus, I think it made me lose extra weight. I like NOW brand, not very expensive. It has gotten me through the last two winters with minimal seasonal affective disorder symptoms.

13 Dec 2010 This is a great substitute for SRRI:s but it HAS sexual side effects. For me: 50mg no antidepressive effect, no side eff 100 mg antidepressive effect, for 1-3 days I felt sick (stomach) and hade headache for one day, after that no side effects, gets the worst out of the depression, out of bed at least 200mg makes me happy, calm, sleep better, no anxiety, selfconfident BUT less ex drive and cant get an orgasm (i'm a woman who easly get them otherwise) 300 mg Made me almost high, felt happiest ever, but friends asked me if I was on drugs ;) Now I've used it for about 6 months and the effect is getting less. I have tried to stop but depression comes back in full (PTSD), 100mg now makes me go out of bed, sleeping and not having PTSD but depressed, 150mg makes me "normal" in mood, 200mg now makes me feeling hopeful and happy. This is better than SRRI, less side effects, but the body gets used to it like anything else. And there is sexueal side effects (but seems much less than with citalopram). I want to change or stop it because I want my orgasms back but until I find another way I have to take at least 150mg/day.

07 Jul 2010 I was taking it to assist with weight loss and took it for about 45 days or more until I noticed the side effects of constipation (which I do not normally have) and gas. I have stopped taking it about 4 days ago, once I researched the side effects. I was trying to determine why I was having the abdominal problems. It is not painfull constipation but very infrequent. However my appetite was decreasing while taking the 5HTP. I am now trying to get it oujt of my system.
