Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD) treatment

Description
Biological brain condition based on inattention, impulsive behaviors, and/or hyperactivity that develops in children that can continue into adolescence and adulthood.
Causes
The cause of ADD/ADHD is not known but research supports it being linked in large part to heritability and genetics. There is also support that other factors including environmental conditions, brain injury, nutrition (ie sugar or food additives), and social environment can contribute in part to ADD/ADHD.

Difficulty staying focused or paying attention, distractability, hyperactivity, impulsive behaviors, difficulty controlling behaviors, or acting before thinking. Rare Symptoms
Symptoms vary from patient to patient depending on the category of Attention Deficit Disorder they have. Traditional Treatment
Stimulants medications including amphetamine (ie Adderall), methylphenidate (ie Ritalin), methamphetamine (ie Desoxyn), lisdexamphetamine dimesylate (ie Vyvanse), dextroamphetamine (ie Dexedrine), and dexmethylphenidate (ie Focalin). Non-stimulant medications including Strattera or Atomoxitine.
