17 Apr 2012 My doctor, after drawing and evaluating my blood, suggested that I take an iron supplement. The supplement was an over the counter one, having 150% of the daily value of iron needed in a healthy diet. Since I hardly need meat, she suggested that I buy something with a percentage that high. For the first few weeks that I took it, every time (even with a full stomach) I received painful stomach cramps and became extremely drowsy. After taking it for quite some time, the pains went away, but my symptoms (drowsiness, joint pains, breathing issues, negative moods and etc.) never went away.
