The generic name of this medication are chlorpheniramine, ibuprofen, and pseudoephedrine and brand names are Advil Allergy Sinus, Advil Childrens Allergy Sinus, Advil Multi-Symptom Cold.

The active ingredients of this medication are chlorpheniramine maleate, ibuprofen and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.

Advil Allergy Sinus is manufactured by Madison NJ based Wyeth.

Mainly used to treat sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose, stuffy nose, sinus congestion, cough, and pain or fever and other symptoms caused by the common cold or flu.

Common Uses:

This medication is used to treat sneezing, itching, watery eyes, runny nose, stuffy nose, sinus congestion, cough, pain or fever and other symptoms caused by the common cold or flu.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance.
Worsening stomach pain, black, bloody, or tarry stools, coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
Fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat.
Redness or swelling.
Severe dizziness, trouble sleeping, or nervousness.
Easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms.
Dangerously high blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, buzzing in your ears, anxiety, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, uneven heartbeats, seizure).
Urinating less than usual or not at all.
Skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
Those with stomach ulcer or active bleeding in stomach or intestines
With liver or kidney disease, glaucoma, diabetes, thyroid disorder
During pre-pregnancy or pregnancy

Drug Interactions:
Warfarin (Coumadin)
Steroids (prednisone and others)
A diuretic (water pill) or high blood pressure medications
Aspirin
Beta-blockers such as atenolol (Tenormin), carvedilol (Coreg), labetalol (Normodyne, Trandate), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol), nadolol (Corgard), propranolol (Inderal, InnoPran), sotalol (Betapace) and others.
Antidepressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil), doxepin (Sinequan.
Other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as diclofenac (Voltaren), etodolac (Lodine).
