This is an antibiotic and tobramycin ophthalmic is the generic name of this medication.
It is manufactured and marketed under several brand names like Aktob, Tobralcon, Tobrasol, Tobrex.
Tobramycin is the active ingredient of this medication. It is available in the form of an opthalmic solution.
It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the eyes.
Common Uses:
This is an antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial infections related to the eyes.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Blurred vision
Burning sensation in the eyes
Irritation
Itching
Redness
Stinging
Swelling of the eyelids
Sensitivity to light
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
If there is allergic reactions to any of the ingredients of this medication.
If there is viral or fungal infections of the eyes.
During pregnancy and in nursing mothers.
Prolonged use of this medication might make bacteria resistant to this medication.
