The active ingredients of this medication is cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride.

This medication functions as a muscle relaxant. It is administed with other treatment modalities like physical therapy in an attempt to reduce muscle pain and spasms resulting from strains, sprains, or other muscle injuries.

Common Uses:

This medication functions as a muscle relaxant. It is administed with other treatment modalities like physical therapy in an attempt to reduce muscle pain and spasms resulting from strains, sprains, or other muscle injuries.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Drowsiness;
Dry mouth;
Fatigue;
Dizziness;
Lightheadedness;
Constipation or blurred.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
An overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism);
Certain heart problems (irregular heartbeat, congestive heart failure, heart block/rhythm disorders, recent heart attack);
Difficulty urinating (urinary retention), high pressure inside the eyes (glaucoma);
Liver disease.

Drug Interactions:
MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine);
Certain types of asthma drugs (e.g., albuterol, salmeterol), cimetidine, clonidine, guanethidine, guanadrel, SSRI antidepressants (e.g., fluoxetine, citalopram);
Stimulants and weight loss products (e.g., ephedrine, dextroamphetamine, phenylephrine), tramadol, tricyclic antidepressants (e.g., amitriptyline, imipramine).

26 Jul 2009	After trying several other medications, Amrix was the first to relieve the intense constant pain in my head. I was extremely tired the first couple of weeks after I started taking it. Especially in the first week, I couldn't even trust myself to take care of my children because I couldn't keep my eyes open. I also had problems with my face breaking out and extreme dry mouth. I tried to stop taking the pill after 3 weeks, but my headaches came back the next day. I have now been on Amrix for 6 weeks. I no longer feel tired all the time, but I have noticed the past several days that my headaches are slowing coming back...today the pain started to be constant. I take the pill at the same time every night and don't miss a dose. I'm wondering if my body may have come to be immune from the drug?
