The generic name of this medication is hydrocortisone and brand names are Anusol-HC and ProctoCare-HC.
The active ingredients of this medication are hydrocortisone and hydrocortisone acetate.
It is mainly used to reduce swelling, itching and discomfort associated with certain rectal conditions.

This medication is used to reduce swelling, itching and discomfort associated with certain rectal conditions.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Mild irritation or dryness.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
If allergic to any ingredient in Anusol-HC Cream
If there is a blockage, abscess or perforation of the rectum or bowel
During pregnancy, pre-pregnancy
If there is a parasitic, bacterial, fungal or viral infection; heart failure, diabetes, diarrhea, swelling of the esophagus or stomach problems.
