26 Aug 2012 I was on Armiidex for 8 1/2 years. Every bone and joint in my body ached, worse as time went on. I developed "trigger finger in two of my fingers, one on each hand for which I have had to get cortisone shots for. The aches and pains were the worse and I finally took myself off about 4 months ago. I feel much better and am going to make an appointment with my oncologist to tell him that I stopped taking it. How long should one take it anyway? Isn't 8 1/2 years a long time? Any comments would be so appreciated.

26 Jun 2012 I hope this drug is truly keeping me cancer free after all the discomfort I'm living with. Can hardly walk and feel like I'm 90 (I'm going to be 77 soon but never had this pain and discomfort before Arimidex. I have 7 months to go. I hope there is not much withdrawal associated with this.

28 May 2012 TERRIBLE hot flashes and night sweats. Can't take anything for hot flashes because my cancer was estrogen and progesterone positive. I even get horrific hot flashes when walking in neck high cool water. Extremely stiff when waking and can barely hobble. I exercise every day (walk in pool) but this is not helping.

04 Jun 2012 Hope, I agree wholeheartedly with how you have changed your lifestyle. I also have altered mine with regard to diet and exercise, etc. My diet is a bit more complicated because as a result of chemotherapy, I suffered a pulmonary embolism and have been injecting anticoagulants twice a day for the past year. I am due to switch over to Warfarin and in this case, I will not be able to drink green tea and have to watch my intake of all the "best" cancer fighting veggies as they usually have the highest Vitamin K content. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place, but will find a way to keep eating healthily!!! I also suffered a rarer side effect from Arimidex - i.e. trigger finger - and haven't been able to bend my left thumb for 10 months. That said, I am sooo very scared to stop taking Arimidex. Where I live has no cancer treatment and I had to move to the other side of the country for one year, two months and thirty seconds ... I do wish you all the best and that you continue feeling great!

29 May 2012 I stopped taking this awful drug a few years ago. I read an article stating that drinking a few cups of green tea cuts the chances or recurrence by 50%. I have completely changed my lifestyle i.e.. diet, weight loss program, and much more. I can actually exercise because I don't hurt so horribly. The pillars of health are cleansing and rebuilding which is exactly what I do, cleansing every 3-4 weeks, eating whole clean foods, reading new materials by reputable people. We don't get cancer if we are not toxic and the toxins are what we have to get rid of. My oncologist told me he can't do any better for me than I am doing for myself. That was a year ago and I feel and look great! I'm not selling anything by the way, just hoping all who are experiencing the recovery road of breast cancer will check out other ways to achieve great health and well being. I do not believe that Arimidex is the way, at least it wasn't for me! Wishing you all the best.
