About Aurum met.
Gold was esteemed by Arabian physicians in the 12th century for heart conditions. Medicinally, it was not used again until the early 20th century for treating tuberculosis and in a blood test for syphilis. Today, it is used in orthodox medicine for rheumatoid arthritis and in the treatment of cancer. The homeopathic remedy Aurum met. is given for specific clinical complaints ranging from depression to heart disease. Aurum met. is given for mental illnesses, such as depression with suicidal thoughts. People who need this remedy are very sensitive to being contradicted and may explode in anger, flushing easily, and trembling. It is also used for increased blood circulation that causes congestion of blood in the head or other organs, for example, a headache, with obvious pulsation in the temples. Heart disease is also helped by Aurum met. Cardiac symptoms include breathlessness, intermittent chest pain behind the breastbone, a feeling that the blood vessels are hot, and a feeling that the heart is going to stop. Aurum met. is given for liver problems, such as jaundice; sinus congestion; and bone pain associated with bone loss, where the bones are very sensitive to touch. The remedy is also used for undescended testicles in young boys, particularly on the right side, and for chronic inflammation of the testes.
