The generic name of this medication is azithromycin ophthalmic and brand name is AzaSite.

The active ingredient of this medication is azithromycin. Inactive ingredients of this medication include benzalkonium chloride; mannitol; citric acid; sodium citrate; poloxamer 407; polycarbophil P; ededate disodium; sodium chloride; water; and
sodium hydroxide.

It is manufactured by Catalent Pharma Solutions, LLC.

It is primarily used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections.

Common Uses:

Used in the treatment of bacterial eye infections.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Any signs of a new infection;
Drainage or crusting of the eyes;
Eye redness or swelling;
Feeling like there is something in the eyes;
Severe irritation after using the eye drops;
Watery eyes, increased photosensitivity.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients; or azithromycin;
Renal disorders;
Cardiovascular conditions.

It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women that are planning on becoming pregnant and nursing mothers.

Merck labels the bottle as containing 2.5 ml. I can barely squeeze out around 5 days worth of drops. Well below what 2.5 ml should yield. After reviewing others posts on the internet I realize I am not the only one paying high amounts of money for drops I am not getting.
