Warnings
The generic name of this medication is azelaic acid and brand names are Azelex, Finacea, Finevin.
The active ingredients of this medication is azelaic acid. Inactive ingredients are glycerin; glyceryl stearate; cetearyl alcohol; cetyl palmitate; cocoglycerides;
PEG-5 glyceryl stearate; propylene glycol; water; and benzoic acid.
Azelaic acid topical is used to treat acne and rosacea.
Common Uses:
This medication is used to treat acne and rosacea.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Stinging;
Burning;
Itching;
Tingling;
Redness or drying of the skin.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients.
Not recommended in pregnant women; women who are planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.
Drug Interactions:
Skin care products that can cause further irritation like cleansers that contain alcohol, tinctures, astringents, abrasives and peeling agents.
