The generic name of this medication is phenazopyridine and brand name is Azo-Dine.
The active ingredient of this medication is phenazopyridine.
Used to provide relief from symptoms caused due to irritation of the urinary tract such as pain, burning, and the feeling of needing to urinate urgently or frequently.
Common Uses:
Used to provide relief from symptoms caused due to irritation of the urinary tract such as pain, burning, and the feeling of needing to urinate urgently or frequently.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Headache;
Dizziness or stomach upset.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients.
Kidney disease;
Liver disease;
Blood disorders like G6PD deficiency; hemolytic anemia;
It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women who are planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.
Drug Interactions:
Phenazopyridine can interfere with certain laboratory tests (including urine tests for kidney function, bilirubin, and sugar levels).
