The generic name of this medication is phenazopyridine and brand name is Azo-Gesic.

The active ingredient of this medication is phenazopyridine. Inactive ingredients include Hydroxypropyl Methyl Cellulose, Polysorbate 80, Pregelatinized Starch, Titanium Dioxide, and it may also contain carnauba wax, Dextrose, Ethylcellulose, Povidone, Sodium Starch Glycolate, Zinc Stearate; or:, Collodial Silicon Dioxide, FD&C Yellow No. 6, Lactose Monohydrate, Magnesium Stearate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polythylene Glycol, Talc.

It is manufactured by Alphagen Laboratories Inc, United Research Laboratories/Mutual Pharmaceutical Company.

Used to provide relief from symptoms caused by urinary tract irritation and symptoms include pain, burning, and the feeling of needing to urinate urgently or frequently.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients.
Kidney disease, liver disease, blood disorders (e.g., G6PD deficiency, hemolytic anemia).

It is also not recommended in pregnant women; women who are planning on becoming pregnant; and nursing mothers.

Drug Interactions:
Phenazopyridine can interfere with certain laboratory tests (including urine tests for kidney function, bilirubin, and sugar levels).
