The generic name of this medication is aspirin and brand names are Easprin, Ecotrin, Empirin.

The active ingredient of this medication is aspirin or acetylsalicylic acid.

This medication is used to reduce fever and relieve mild-to-moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, common cold and headaches.

Common Uses:

This medication is used to reduce fever and relieve mild-to-moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, common cold and headaches.

Off Label Uses:

The off label uses of this medication - may also be used to reduce pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis.

Side Effects:
Upset stomach and heartburn.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for patients with the following conditions:
If allergic to it or other salicylates (such as choline salicylate).
If allergic to other pain relievers or fever reducers (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen).
If there are bleeding/blood-clotting disorders (such as hemophilia, vitamin K deficiency, low platelet count).
If there is kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, stomach problems (such as ulcers, heartburn, stomach pain).

Drug Interactions:
Ketorolac.
Mifepriston.
Acetazolamide.
Bisphosphonates taken by mouth (such as alendronate).
Blood thinners (such as warfarin, heparin).
High blood pressure drugs (such as ACE inhibitors such as captopril, beta blockers such as metoprolol).
