Common Uses:

This medication is used in combination to treat the symptoms of Parkinson's disease or Parkinson-like symptoms (e.g., shakiness, stiffness, difficulty moving).

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Dizziness;
Nausea;
Vomiting;
Trouble sleeping and headache.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for following conditions:
Who have certain eye problem (narrow-angle glaucoma);
Who have bleeding disorders, breathing problems (e.g., asthma, emphysema), certain eye problem (wide-angle glaucoma);
Who have heart or blood vessel problems (e.g., arrhythmias, heart attack, angina), kidney disease, liver disease;
Who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant.

Drug Interactions:
Tetrabenazine;
MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, tranylcypromine);
Antidepressants (e.g., tricyclics such as amitriptyline/nortriptyline).

I have had to add Comtan to regime because Carbidopa/Levodopa doesn't work for me on a consistent basis...it may work for a few minutes, to an hour or two or not at all...it's like the medication doesn't have the same amount of chemicals in it consistently.

When I started on Carbidopa, I never expected I'd be able to write as well as I can now. I was shaking that bad in my right hand. I'm tickled that it's turned out the way it has.
