I started taking Celebrex, 200mg once a day in the morning with breakfast in May 2013. It is now Nov. 25, 2013 and all I can say is "Wow, it's a great med!" I am a tennis instructor and avid player and at age 60 this drug has changed my life in a POSITIVE way. I began taking it for degenerative disc disease and inflammation in the L5 area of my spine. But I also have degenerative disease in both knees (both have had Arthroscopic Surgery twice). After three days I discovered very little discomfort in my lower back. Within a week I noticed both knees felt great! The only problem I have had with the prescription is just that, getting a prescription. My back orthopedic wouldn't continue the drug after 90 days because their clinic did not have a lab connected to the facility for blood work. He then asked me to request Celebrex from my Primary Physician. She would not prescribe Celebrex because she is one of "those" doctors who are afraid of the drug based on POSSIBLE cardio problems. So happens I had a stress test two months before I asked her for Celebrex. The cardiologist found my heart to be very healthy, this test was just part of a full-physical that "I requested" after I changed to a new primary. After the new primary shot down the prescription I talked to another of my Orthopedics who takes care of my knees. He prescribed the 200mg of Celebrex right there on the spot. He agreed with me that getting that kind of relief from pain in all the areas of "old sports injuries" was well worth it. Plus, I requested a copy of my cardio stress test and gave it to him so he could see the results (just to be thorough). There is always so much negativity on the Internet about any drug and that's because people who do not take drugs properly or simply have a reaction that scares them (it could be any NSAID), they come to the Internet and write all kinds of garbage which scares other people from even trying this incredible drug. In April 2014 generic equivalents of Celebrex will drop the price dramatically and that is going to be a wonderful thing for many people who are not fortunate to have the insurance to cover the co-pay of Celebrex which has been very expensive $10.00 a capsule since 1999. Take it from me folks. The drug works and works beyond expectations. Like all things we ingest in life, some of them are just not going to agree with our bodies chemistry. If someone is allergic to seafood and tells you it's dangerous, you might be frightened enough to never have a Maine Lobster (that would be really sad). So here's wishing all of you the best of success with Celebrex - all of you who have suffered a long time with chronic inflammation. -coach

I have no definite side effects, but I also have absolutely NO pain relief in my upper arms, which is my reason for taking this outlandishly expensive medicine. $2.00 a pill and NO relief so that I can do every day activities associated with living, does NOT set well with me!!!

I use Celebrex for my knee, I have been having knee pain for quite sometime now and using this medication really eased my pain. Great medicine and I would def. advise anyone else to take it.
