About Crotalus hor.
The rattlesnake is distinctive because of its tail, which makes a rattling sound when it is about to strike. The homeopathic remedy was first proved by Dr. Hering in 1837 and is used today for a range of serious illnesses. The Latin name for the rattlesnake derives from the AGreekkrotalon, meaning "rattle" or "castanet." This is due to the distinctive rattling sound made by the snake's tail, which vibrates at 50 beats per second as the creature prepares to strike its prey. The remedy, proved by the US homeopath Dr. Constantine Hering in 1837, is prescribed primarily for a range of serious disorders, including hemorrhaging, angina, strokes, and infection. Those who respond best to Crotalus tend to be sluggish and melancholic. They are prone to forgetfulness, al;ld may lose their way in their own neighborhood, or even f,orget the names of close friends. An aversion to family members is typical of these people, and a desire for meat, especially pork, is common. Crotalus is considered to help stop bleeding from any orifice, making it highly useful for hemorrhaging. It is given following the onset of a state of total collapse, which may be due to a severe septic state, a stroke, or a heart attack. In addition, it may help cases of delirium, throat infection, or retinal hemorrhage. Venom "milked" from live snakes is used to make antivenins. which trigger production of antibodies that neutralize the poison from a snakebite. Venom obtained from a live snake by "milking" it is dropped onto lactose sugar. The resulting mixture is then triturated. Crotalus hor. helps stop bleeding from any orifice, especially when it is slow and the blood is dark, thin, and does not clot. The remedy is used for jaundice, sepsis, and total collapse. It is also given for right-sided strokes, cancer, and heart problems where the person is worse lying on the left side and the pain extends to the left hand. Sometimes it is given for swelling in the whole body; for example in liver failure and blood poisoning. It can also be helpful for alcoholism. Bleeding - Copious bleeding from any orifice. The remedy is especially effective for slow bleeding, or for thin, dark blood that does not clot well. It may seem as though blood is present in the Perspiration or tears. The bleeding may be associated with a state of collapse or severe infection. Crotalus is used for septicemia with hemorrhaging where the breakdown of red blood cells is so great that the liver becomes overwhelmed, leading to the onset of serious conditions such as jaundice. Stroke - Weakness or total collapse after a stroke. There may be paralysis or impaired function in the limbs, which is generally right-sided and accompanied by pain that extends down to the left hand. Other symptoms may include retinal hemorrhaging and nosebleeds. There may be signs of delirium Heart disorders - Partial or total collapse following angina or a heart attack. There may be weakness, fainting, and pain that is worse on the left side of the body and that possibly extends down the arm to the left hand. There may be great reluctance to move due to a feeling that somethingls going to burst underneath the breastbone. Delirium - Confused and disordered thoughts as a result of a serious infection, stroke, or heart attack. There may be irritability, anxiety, and an inability to answer questions. Insomnia is another possible symptom: those affected may suddenly jump out of bed and try to run away, muttering and babbling. These symptoms may also be associated with the delirium tremens caused by alcoholism. Throat infections - Inflammation or infection of the throat, often due to laryngitis or tonsillitis. The pain is particularly sharp on the left side of the throat, and is often accompanied by a dry, irritating cough. A
