22 Jun 2011 I have had U.C. for 11 years, with the last 3 years being the worst. I am a 73 year old male and I am presently taking balsalazide 750 mg, (9) pills per day, plus for the last (60) days I have taken (9) mg per day of Entocort EC. I have seen only a slight improvement since adding the Entocort EC to the Balsalazide. I am also on a drug study receiving 100 mg every 30 days of a test drug "Golimumab". I average 8.4 bowel movements per day as opposed to 9.5 prior to the Entocort. I have no negative side effects from any of the drugs and I am trying to reduce the amount of bowel movements since it effects my quality of life.

11 Jun 2010 I was prescribed Entocort for IBS (very loose stools) by my Gastro. I have been taking them now for almost 2 weeks with one capsule of "Align" probiotic. I have noticed absolutly no change and have discontinued its use.

26 Mar 2009 At first I thought I noticed a difference, but I was also on Imuran and had to stop it, so it may have been Imuran that was helping.
