woke up with severe pain in left eye; subsided, and then headache (in first month) rash & itching; used 2.5%cortizone;itching left & has now returned, on faced & eyes last time, now all over. Unbalanced when getting out of bed at night & morning. Weak 'jittery' muscles, short of breath, 'feeling faint'.---haven't been to Dr. this mo. but quit these stupid pills today after reading about them! Had already tried Statins with all bad results. I'm DONE! Haven't had blood test to see if anything has improved, but I am through anyway, no matter what! (note: have had diabetes for 20 years)

Took 600mg twice daily for 10 days but had to stop when I began suffering from extreme fatigue (couldn't even walk from room to room at home) and shortness of breath. It was like someone sucked all the oxygen out of the house. Yesterday my husband found me leaning over the kitchen counter, gasping for air. I stopped Gemfibrozil after last night's dose and feel 100% better today. I even went to the supermarket and reorganized a closet.
