Warnings
The generic name of this medication is hydrocodone and acetaminophen and brand names are Anexsia, Dolorex Forte, Hycet and Liquicet.
The active ingredients of this medication are hydrocodone bitartrate and acetaminophen.
Hydrocodone was first manufactured in the early 1920s by the German pharmaceutical company Knoll.
Mainly used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
Common Uses:
This medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
Off Label Uses:
None noted currently.
Side Effects:
Hives
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat
Feeling light-headed, fainting
Seizure (convulsions)
Nausea
Stomach pain
Loss of appetite
Itching
Cautions / Warnings:
Not advisable in people who are having liver or kidney disease.
Not advisable in pregnant women and nursing mothers.
Not advisable in people who are having low blood pressure, underactive thyroid, mental illness, stomach or intestinal disorder.
Drug Interactions:
Antidepressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil, Etrafon)
Isocarboxazid (Marplan)
Phenelzine (Nardil)
Bronchodilators such as ipratropium (Atrovent) or tiotropium (Spiriva)
Irritable bowel medications such as dicyclomine (Bentyl)

I'd prefer to just take an OTC drug like advil which has less side effects for me than hydrocodone.

works very well for pain. Must eat before taking medication. Severely decreased mental clarity. Makes me very sleepy.
