About Kalium
Kali bichromicum is often called potassium bichromate; it is a chemical compound that may be acquired from chromium iron ore or by processing potassium chromate with one of a number of strong acids. A highly corrosive substance, it is used primarily in textile dyeing, in the staining of wood, and as a component in electric batteries. It is also a very powerful poison. Homeopathic practitioners believe Kali bichromicum works best for conditions that are accompanied by the symptom of pain in a distinct spot, where the ache is easily located with a fingertip. For homeopathic use this caustic chemical, also called Kali be, is diluted to nontoxic levels with large amounts of milk sugar, a pharmaceutical process called trituration. Kali bich. is usually given for complaints affecting the mucous membranes, especially in the nose, throat, vagina, urethra, and stomach. It is an important remedy for conditions with excessive mucus, colds that turn into sinus congestion with pressure and fullness in the nose, and glue ear (fluid in the middle ear), with a sensation of fullness in the ear. It is also used to treat joint problems with rheumatic pain that appears and disappears suddenly, moves around the affected part rapidly, and is aggravated by a sudden change to hot weather. Digestive disorders, such as nausea and vomiting of yellow mucus, also benefit from Kali bich. Migraines, which start at night, or are better from firm pressure at the root of the nose but worse bending over, are eased by this remedy. When ill, people who need Kali bich. are chilly and extremely sensitive to the cold. However, they feel worse in hot summer weather.
