I've used Rogaine Foam for about a year and a half. Prior to my nightly application, I'd use a dermaroller to increase th absorption rate of the mediction and use much more than the rcommended half carful. I have a great deal more hair than most hair loss suffers, so i wanted to ensure i was getting enough to my scalp. Well, weeks afterwards, I started to notice an increase in cardiac demand and assumed I was getting the flu. My heart rate would jump to he 120's just walking up stairs. Twice I went to the ER with a HR in the 180's only to be released with a diaqnosis of tachycardia. I followed up with my primary doctor and a cardiologist who found no signs of any cardiac related disease or anything else. Neither doctor contributed my symtoms to my abuse of Rogaine-I was upfront with them about it too. Despite not being diagnised with any heart related problems, I'm still convinced the Rogaine is still causing ordinarily high cardiac output-my heart rate increases quickly upon little physical demand. I plan on returning to my cardiologist for another review of my condition. We've done EKG's, a chest x-ray, an Echo and I wore a Holter monitor and all results are not indicative of any heart disease. Something is going on and I'm hoping it's not permanent. By the way-I'm still using the Rogaine Foam at night with the dermaroller but what's interesting is the heart palpitations I used to get at rest have not happened in quite some time.
