Kylie Minogue

18 Jan 2021 I am 73years old male . BP about 180/80 (plus) comes down to 145/70 with physiotens (400) at 8am daily - then increases back to higher BP when I take Norvasc (10mg) at 8pm - this regime not working so being switched to minipress at night instead of norvasc. I don't like the recorded side effects(hallucinations, nightmares, anger) of minipress - especially if I have to take with physiotens. Sticking with physiotens despite breathelessness and oedema - and looking for something instead of minipress - (too freaky for me).

23 Apr 2017 I have been prescribed moxonidine as a first choice antihypertensive. Two months I was taking the minimum 0,2 dose. At first some vertigo happened and the sleep disturbances started. The vertigo soon faded but I still have trouble sleeping. After two months I got my blood pressure measured and it is stil high - mildly elevated as I had before. I experienced sexual problems and I asked my doctor if that could have anything to do with the drug. He denied that and told me that its the drug with by far least adverse effects and that is why he prescribed it to me. I forgot to mention that before taking the drug, my ECG was flawless, now I get some insane numbers, like my QRS is 0,14. His response to that was giving me the stronger dose 0,3mg. And now my sexual dysfunction is even worse, just two days off. WTH

23 Apr 2017 I hope you will begin to feel better soon. This drug was a nightmare for me. I didn't read the side effects before taking it. One of them was anxiety, it was so severe, I thought I was having a fit !! I couldn't even lie down in bed let alone sleep. My GP said Moxonodine acts on the brain, so I guess anything is possible!! took me quite a long time after coming off the drug to learn to deal with & be in control of the anxiety. I wish you the very best of luck.

20 Jul 2016 Female, 56 y.old. Moxonidine was prescribed to me about 18 months ago because of moderate hypertension. So far, nothing unbearable happened, apart from this cough since three weaks ago. I had many side effects on almost every alternative BP medication (ACE & Ca channels inhibitors, beta & alpha blockers, etc.). I maintan BP now with diuretics only, but it probably soon won't be enough.

13 Jul 2016 Moxonidine is safe and effective and appears to lower both BP and BG Best of all it has no side effects and is cost effective Drugs far more dangerous, less effective and expensive are sold in the USA. Why is Moxonidine not sold here?!?

14 Jul 2016 I am sorry that I have to disagree with you that Moxonodine has no side effects. I was given this medication around 4 years ago to treat high BP. I didn't read the list of known side effects before I started to take. A couple of days after,. I began to shake all over, I was terrified I may be having a fit. I began to suffer panic attacks, followed by anxiety (which I didn't recognise as I have never suffered from it before). I then read the side effects, and these things were listed. The GP took me off the tablet, it does act on the brain I was told. Was only on this tablet for 3 weeks' took me a lot longer to get rid of the side effects. I am pleased for you that Moxonodine had no adverse reaction, but I don't want people to be misguided, it is certainly not for everone as I am here to prove.
