What works for one person may or may not work for another person. I took Nexium (a $250 prescription!) and it worked exactly the same as the Omeprazole that I take now ($30!!!). No difference. The key, for me, is to take it EVERY night. Yes, I also try to eschew things that cause my acid to gurgle up, like acidic foods, coffee, alcohol, too much food too late at night, etc. And to get more exercise and de-stress… but that’s MY bag, and CLamb’s situation is CLamb’s business. So I was told to take Nexium from my Primary Care DR for GERD. Drank the Barium swallow test and nothing was found to be a big deal. No ulcers nor a hiatal hyneria . Nexium made my stomach so nauseated and I felt so bloated to the point where I couldn't nor desired to eat a thing! I felt worse, no heartburn or reflux so that was great but just felt horrible!!!! Called my pharmacist and she was great and said other drugs in same category make you feel the same so I decided on taking Zantac tonight instead. Zantac is different some how. I feel 100 % better so far. Bloating gone, upset stomach gone, pain in stomach gone! Maybe I was taking the wrong medicine for my situation, I don't know but I felt lack crap taking Nexium. I'm certainly not a Dr. and every situation is different but this is my experience and opinion.

Helped lessen stomach acid, but did not work as well as other medicines. It is less expensive than other and acid reflux medications.
