Took Niaspan for 3 days. Third day I was awakened with flushing so severe that it felt like I was cooking in a pot of boiling water. My skin looked like I had severe sunburn. After flushing subsided, about 15 minutes, went to bathroom because of diahrria. Washing hands in sink and the next thing I knew I woke up confused on the floor of the bathroom wedged between the toilet and the vanity in a pool of water from the sink overflowing(no overflow drain in this sink in case you are wondering.) My daughter drove me to the ER where they did a brain scan and checked my heart and they were negative. ER doctor said he had a similar reaction but with only 1 pill. He could not get off the bathroom floor without help for his wife. So now I have 97 useless pills at about $3 a pill left. Aspirin is supposed to help with the flushing but I get hives from aspirin.
