OxyContin has been a blessing for me. I spent years in pain management. I had to switch to a physician that would write me something stronger than Tramadol and Valiumn twice a day. It seems that there is a negative attitude toward people taking OxyContin but obviousy these physicians and others with negative attitudes have never had REAL back problems. I have "end plate" changes on my vertibrae. I am 54 years old. I did notice that you MUST not miss a dose or two because you will vomit and be sick. I take 20mg twice per day.

It makes you feel great!! Definitely try it if you have severe pains.. Get it prescribed by a doctor though.

when i first started taking oxycontin it was for pain in my lower back. after taking a fall on some ice after a while of taking the oxycontin they were not working anymore. then my doc upped the mg to 40mgs 4 times a day after a while they no longer helped,so then my doc refered me to pain management specialist then he upped the mgs to 60. 2 times a day now they last for 12hrs.
