When I began, the doctor did not give me any directions. It was all my error and trial. It made me at the very first beginning clear, and able to perform tasks efficiently – in the house, at work, errands. At the beginning it made me very brave and I could tell people what I thought without fear of their reaction. It was like a magic. Like I was re-born as a more efficient me. I am a writer and it made me sharper in writing and more creative. Executive functions became better. But also – lots of thoughts. I was flooding with ideas. Attacked by them. Fast thinking. The ideas coming to my head nearly 'raped' me with their intensity. It gave me energy I never had before. But then the place I was living at became real noisy, because some neighbors made noise in our surrounding. I was more sensitive and really suffered hard. At that time I was also experiencing an unpleasant event - that is objectively can make any one feels anxiety. Yet, I think Ritalin increased it – the fact is that at times of Ritalin I have experienced levels of anxiety and sound sensitivity I never know existed. I had to stop. Back than I was on 80 mg a day. But after I had stopped I never came back to those amounts and now I take 'homeopathic' amount – 5 mg or 2.5 mg every 1/5 – 2 hours. It gives me clarity with few or non side effects.

This medication was very beneficial for mental clarity and concentration. I could see how someone may become dependent on it, though. I stopped use after deciding to avoid addiction.
