09 Apr 2011 Doesn't really work...I think Claritin works much better.

09 Apr 2011 Doesn't sting your eyes like Visine and stops the itching, but doesn't help the redness.

09 Apr 2011 Doesn't really work...just burns your eyes. I would try something else.

11 Mar 2011 I used to use Optivar, then I switched to Zaditor because I heard it works better. However, Zaditor didn't really help the itching. I switched back to Optivar and it works much better, except I experience more stinging with Optivar than Zaditor when I first use the drops.

15 Mar 2011 If Optivar works, but you experience stinging, you may want to try some other anti-histamine eye drops. For example, you could try Emadine, Livostin, Visine-A or Patanol. It doesn't hurt to switch things up to find the best medication for you...don't settle with one that gives you side effects unless you absolutely have to. Good luck.

28 Jan 2011 After using Zaditor for a year, the condition got worse. I found out after a year that the eyes were "angry" (according to the eye specialist who finally treated my son after being misdiagnose). Ended up taking antibiotics and steroids. Not happy at all!

09 Mar 2011 The symptoms your son was experiencing may have been the result of a bacterial infection, as opposed to allergies, which is probably the reason your eye specialist prescribed the antibiotics. This is example highlights the importance of getting a diagnoses from a health care professional before self-medicating. Zaditor is primarily effective in the case of allergic conjunctivitis, but won't target the root of the problem in the case of bacteria-induced conjunctivitis. I would always take the safe route and get a checkup, especially with children, before self-medicating. I hope your son is doing better.
