Before being put on Geodon I experienced at least 3 suicidal attempts and major depression. As soon as I was put on it I experienced no more suidicdal thoughts at all. It has been a life saver, litterally. Before I was on Geodon I was on Lamictal and had 3 fairly major car wrecks from nervousness and inability to respond quickly. Geodon, (Ziprazidone) has made me much more calm and have brought outbursts and moodswings almost to a halt. It has by no means made me a zombie. Granted, my handwriting is still shaky as it was on Lamictal, but not as bad, and I find that I am unable to sustain a deep breath for long. I am a writer by nature and profession, and have noticed a change in my creativity, but must say that living a normal life far outweighs my need for insanity just so I can be creative. It will make you sleepy in the morning for the first week or so, but just get through that and you'll hopefully feel much more focused and normal. I have a decreased libido, but I'm also on Paxil. I have gained about 10 lbs. but I don't think it was the Ziprazidone. I'm sure everyones experience will vary.
