The active ingredient of this medication is amoxapine.

Amoxapine is manufactured by Lederle Laboratories.

It is primarily used in treating depression.

Common Uses:

This medication is used in treating depression.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Anxiety;
Changes in appetite;
Changes in blood pressure;
Clumsiness;
Confusion;
Constipation;
Dizziness;
Drowsiness;
Dry mouth;
Excitement;
Headache;
Increased sweating;
Nausea;
Nervousness;
Nightmares;
Pounding in the chest;
Restlessness;
Sleeplessness;
Swelling;
Tiredness;
Tremors;
Weakness.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people with:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
A history of heart attack and are recovering from the same;
A history of taking or who have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI) (eg, phenelzine) within the last 14 days;
A history of taking clonidine, guanethidine, H1 antagonist (eg, astemizole), or macrolide or ketolide (eg, erythromycin).

Drug Interactions:
Antiarrhythmics (eg, propafenone, flecainide), carbamazepine, cimetidine, fluconazole, SSRIs (eg, fluoxetine) H1 antagonists (eg, astemizole), macrolides or ketolides (eg, erythromycin), mibefradil, MAOIs (eg, phenelzine), phenothiazines (eg, thioridazine), quinidine, or terbinafine;
Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) or sympathomimetics (eg, albuterol, amphetamine, pseudoephedrine);
Clonidine, guanethidine, or guanfacine.
