04 Aug 2018 Cymbalta created a horrific experience for me. I stopped taking Cymbalta due to feeling constantly tired and fatigued. While taking Cymbalta I slept for 12 hours per night and was still tired. I was not experiencing depression, but extreme somnolence. I also had several nightmares each night and nighttime sweating while taking Cymbalta. Now that I am off of Cymbalta, I sleep 7-8 hours and feel energetic and in a better mood. I only have a nightmare every few weeks now and no sweating. Getting off of Cymbalta was excruciatingly painful. I experienced nausea, vomiting, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, brain zaps and vertigo for weeks. I gradually reduced my dose over several weeks to hopefully avoid withdrawal symptoms with no luck. My doctors never warned me about this medication. Eli Lilly claims that this drug only caused withdrawal symptoms in approximately 1 percent of the population, but it's actually over 50 percent if you read studies about this medication. Eli Lilly is deceptive and doesn't want people to get off of this medication. This is why the smallest dosage of Cymbalta manufactured is 20mg so tapering off this medication is very difficult. If I would have known about the side effects and withdrawal symptoms I would have NEVER taken Cymbalta.
