Treatment Information
The generic name of Avastin is bevacizumab, which is the active ingredient of Avastin. The inactive ingredients of Avastin include:
Dibasic sodium phosphate.
Monobasic monohydrate sodium phosphate.
Polysorbate 20.
Trehalose dihydrate.
Water for injections.

Avastin is used in the treatment of the carcinoma of the colon, rectum, and non-squamous, non-small cell cancer. It functions by inhibiting the protein which promote growth of new blood vessels, thereby starving the carcinogenic cells of their blood supply.
It is manufactured by Genentech, Inc.

23 Mar 2010 Three years ago I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer with Liver Metasis After surgery they started my quimo one of the weekly, then bimonthly for the past three years I was just discharge from treatment and thanks to God I am completly cleared. As explain by my Doctor Avastin inhibited cell production eliminating or promoting the death of cancer propagation. I experience very little side effects the one effect was elevated blood preassure.
