The generic name of this medication is betamethasone valerate and brand names are Beta-Val and Betaderm.

The active ingredient of this medication is betamethasone valerate.

Spectrum Chemical Mfg. Corp., AK Scientific, Inc., and LGM Pharma are the suppliers of this medication in USA.

Used in treating various problems associated with skin conditions like itching, redness and swelling.

Common Uses:

This medication is used in the treatment of itching, redness and swelling associated with many skin conditions.

Off Label Uses:

None noted thus far.

Side Effects:
Acne
Cracking and stinging of the skin
Dryness
Excessive hair growth
Inflamed hair follicles
Itching
Skin irritation

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in patients with the following conditions:
If there are allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients.
If there is a history of taking any prescription or nonprescription medication., herbal preparation or dietary supplement.
If there are llergies to various other medications, food or other substances.
If there is thinning of the skin, skin infection, tuberculosis (TB), chickenpox and shingles.
During pregnancy, pre-pregnancy and in nursing mothers.

19 May 2009	I love this ointment, and it really helps to clear up the rash, we may have to use it for more then one-day but that is okay! I feel as though if it takes more then oneday for the rash to appear then it will take more then oneday for it to go away.
