The generic name of this medication is hydrochlorothiazide/triamterene and the brand name is Dyazide.

The active ingredients of this medication are hydrochlorothiazide and triamterene.

Primarily used in the treatment of high blood pressure or hypertension.

It is manufactured by Smith Kline & French Laboratories.

Common Uses:

This drug is used in:
Treating high blood pressure;
Reducing swelling and fluid retention.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Abdominal pain;
Anemia;
Breathing difficulty;
Change in potassium level (causing symptoms such as numbness; tingling; muscle weakness; slow heart rate; shock)
Constipation;
Diabetes;
Diarrhea;
dizziness.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not advisable in people that are:
Diabetic;
Pregnanty;
Suffering from renal and/or hepatic conditions.

Drug Interactions:
Dofetilide;
Eplerenone;
Spironolactone;
Amiloride;
Tacrolimus.
