Common Uses:

Ginkgo leaves are used for improving the flow of blood, improving memory due to brain problems from Alzheimer's disease and stroke, relieving dizziness, and for ringing of the ears. It is also used as a concentration enhancer, and an anti-vertigo agent. Ginkgo is also effective as protection against cell damage from free radicals. The FDA has not reviewed this product for safety and effectiveness, and some supplement products have been found to contain possibly harmful impurities/additives.

Off Label Uses:

Multiple sclerosis; vitiligo

Side Effects:
Stomach upset;
Nausea;
Diarrhea;
Headache'
Fainting;
Trouble speaking;
Weakness;
Unusual bleeding or bruising;
Allergic reaction

Cautions / Warnings:

Consult your doctor before using this product if you have blood/bleeding problems (e.g., hemophilia), or any allergies; Ginkgo may decrease the ability of blood to clot properly; Before having any surgeries or dental work, tell the medical personnel if you are taking this medication; Liquid preparations of this ginkgo may contain alcohol and/or sugar; Caution is advised if you have alcohol dependence, liver disease, and/or diabetes. Ginkgo is not recommended during pregnancy. Breast-feeding while using this product is also not recommended.

Drug Interactions:
Blood thinners (e.g., warfarin);
Aspirin;
NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen, ketoprofen);
Trazodone
