Warnings
This medication is manufactured and marketed under the generic name Hydrochlorothiazide.
The active ingredient here is hydrochlorothiazide and inactive ingredient are benzyl alcohol, colloidal silicon dioxide, synthetic black iron oxide, titanium dioxide, pregelatinized starch, propylene glycol, gelatin and magnesium stearate.
This medication is available in tablet form and is manufactured by Genpharm.
It is primarily used in the treatment of high blood pressure.
Common Uses:
This medication is used treating high blood pressure.
Off Label Uses:
The off-label uses of hydrochlorothiazide are:
• Hypercalcemia
• Ménière's disease
Side Effects:
Constipation;
Diarrhea;
Dizziness;
Lightheadedness (especially when sitting up or standing);
Loss of appetite;
Nausea;
Temporary blurred vision.
Cautions / Warnings:
Not recommended in people that are:
Allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients;
Taking dofetilide or ketanserin.
Not advisable for usage in pregnant women or those that are planning on becoming pregnant.
Drug Interactions:
Barbiturates like phenobarbital;
Cholestyramine;
Colestipol;
Corticosteroids like prednisone;
Corticotropin;
Diabetes medications like glipizide; metformin; or insulin;
Diazoxide or lithium;
Digoxin;
Dofetilide;
Ketanserin;
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen.

For me it is not helping ,and I wish somebody could help me to find the right medication or a natural way to lowered my blood pressure.So far I tried 3 different medicine for bp with the hydrochlorothiazide together and I had bad reaction,and now I am going to start on Losartan potassium.Hope it works.

This medication by itself has worked ok for my blood pressure, but has worked out well for my edema. Because of this I have been using it with another high blood pressure medication. The only draw back that I've had with it is the cotton mouth that I get if I walk much without having water with me.

For me it is not helping ,and I wish somebody could help me to find the right medication or a natural way to lowered my blood pressure.So far I tried 3 different medicine for bp with the hydrochlorothiazide together and I had bad reaction,and now I am going to start on Losartan potassium.Hope it works.

seems to help the bp a lot. just make sure you don't take it right before a long car ride or at night cause the whole increased urination thing

Doctor added this to my atenolol to reduce blood pressure. It has reduced my blood pressure some but not very much. I find that staying hydrated on this drug is a constant battle. I carry water with me everywhere and drink water constantly, but still feel thirsty frequently. Also I wake up every morning with a very dry mouth which is the worst side effect.
