The generic name of this medication is bacitracin/neomycin/polymyxin and brand names are Lanabiotic and Neosporin.

Neosporin is manufactured by Johnson & Johnson Co.,

The active ingredients of this medication are Neomycin; Polymyxin B Sulfate; Bacitracin Zinc. The inacative ingredients include base of cocoa butter; cottonseed oil; olive oil; sodium pyruvate; and tocopheryl acetate.

It is primarily used in the treatment and prevention of infections caused due to minor cuts; scrapes; and burns.

Common Uses:

This medication is used in the treatment and prevention of infection caused due to minor cuts; scrapes; and burns.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Dyspnea or difficulty breathing;
Pain and burning;
Peeling not present before using Neosporin Ointment;
Redness;
Severe allergic reactions including rashes; hives; itching; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue;
Skin irritation;
Tightness in the chest;
Worsening or recurrence of wound symptoms.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended in people that have:
Allergic reactions to this medication or any of its ingredients;
Deep wounds; puncture wounds; animal bites; and serious burns.

17 Nov 2013	I have lichen planus on the tops of my feet, hands, and vaginal.
