User Comments about Seretide
02 May 2018 Seretide does not clear my respiratory tract of the thick mucous and congestion which causes me to wheeze and cough at times. If I stop taking Seretide for a few days my symptoms will worsen, so I guess it does work to some degree, but it only relieves the symptoms, and not always. I would really like to eradicate the actual cause and I feel this must be an underlying chronic infection with some atypical bacteria such as Chlamydia pheumonia, about which there has been some research, but my doctor tends to patronise me and told me a prescribed short course of antibiotics would have got rid of any infection and I know this is not true for this organism.

02 Mar 2018 I have been using seretide for approximately 8 years for buildup of phlegm in my upper airway and associated difficult breathing and shortness of breath. The only diagnosis I have had from a respiratory physician is that he thinks my upper airway is "hyper-responsive", but not why this might be so. My condition has got worse over this time, although the seretide does help to open my airways, less so now than it used to. I am constantly coughing up mucous and phlegm and suffer increasingly from chest and sinus infections and worsening of shortness of breath on exertion. I have headaches almost every day.

02 Mar 2018 Oh Jenny that's terrible. You might what to read what I found in my desperate situation..on and off seratide over 10 years. 1. Been research in Aus -and overseas since 1990 or so re use of. Zithromycin group of drugs for asthmatics... think about 80 percent success rate. The drug group acts against pneumonia chlamidya for once thing.. 2. DHEA look at worldhealth.net. For a start. Gives immune boost and reduces the hyper reactivity your specialist noted. Plus more... stops the aging effect of corticosteroids. Ideally get recommendation for path lab blood test, otherwise . It's production is reduced right down by cortisol and by Seratide. I take 50 mg per day.

02 Mar 2018 @ Janet. Thank you for the acknowledgment. I know we all have to find what suits us. If only one person is helped with my novel use of Flaxseed Oil my journey has been worthwhile.

01 Mar 2018 I am using Flax Seed oil as a "buffer" to minimize Seritide side-effects. I was on 250mg Seretide but it was too severe. I now use 125 Seretide twice each day, am and pm. I find Flaxseed oil the best to coat my tongue, gums and throat while inhaling Seretide. One teaspoon, swished around my mouth and partially (gently) swallow some of the oil, then inhale Seretide through a "spacer". Spit the oil out and immediately rinse with warm water and drink warm water a few times to rinse the throat. Max water temperature 40°C (104°F) depending on physical condition of your tongue, mouth and throat. Olive oil does not stay viscose enough, other failures were coconut, macadamia, canola, sunflower, they are all too thin. Side bonus of Flaxseed is it is 1:1 ... omega-6 : omega-3. My doctor and oncologist think I am wacko ... I have experimented with all sorts of "tricks", had a lot of failures too.

01 Mar 2018 Thank you, will use this gladly. specialist in hospital said not to use a spacer for cymbicort. Well after various attempts to reduce corticosteroids been back on it since June last year. The corticosteroids give me a ravening hunger to go with depression...have found research that explains corticosteroids cause body to convert food and whatever it can into fat, yes on belly, back of neck and upper back in particular. This means general loss of muscle, hair growth everything. Corticosteroids also cut back the body's production of DHEA which should be the most abundant hormone and hormone precursor. I got tested on my own demand, and had a hundredth of what I should have had. ie approx none. No wonder my hair fell out and is thin instead of thick long and glamorous, and much more. I consider it criminal that doctors do not recognise this. Deficiency makes the lungs more reactive ie there comes asthma. So cymbicort still caused huge damage and fast. My brother in law lost his voice after being on it for a few months. Thanks again Russell for posting. In Aust one can get free Medicare blood test for DHEA and supplements are 50 mg per day to bring back to age 25 level. It's cheap.
