The generic name of this medication is drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol and brand name is Yasmin.
Active ingredients of Yasmin include ethinylestradiol 30 micrograms and drospirenone 3 mg.
The inactive ingredients are lactose monohydrate NF, corn starch NF, modified starch NF.
Mainly used in preventing pregnancy.
Yasmin is made by Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals.

18 Oct 2014 never had any problems with yasmin, being taken off of it not by choice stating the lisinopril I take is a risk also with stroke because of the estrogen. being put on nora be instead.

26 Apr 2012 Despite initial concerns about the safety of using yasmin, I took the drug for three months and was pleased with the positive effects that yasmin had on my skin, hair and body generally. I was therefore keen to continue being prescribed the drug. However during the first two months of taking yasmin I experienced intermittent leg cramps, which I assumed was attributable to physical activity. By the third month I experienced severe cramping and pain in my left leg and was diagnosed with a DVT in my left thigh. I have since discontinued yasmin. According to the drug leaflet produced by Bayer Schering Pharma, "of 100,000 women taking a Pill like yasmin, 30-40 may have a blood clot in a year, the exact number is unknown". Following my diagnosis of DVT and based on the opinions of medical professionals, I feel that this figure is probably greatly underestimated.
