Common Uses:

This medication is used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in women after menopause.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Chest pain;
Difficulty or pain when swallowing;
Pain or burning under the ribs or in the back;
New or worsening heartburn;
Severe joint, bone, or muscle pain.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are allergic to ibandronate;
Who have low blood levels of calcium (hypocalcemia);
Who have a vitamin D deficiency;
Who have kidney disease;
Who have an ulcer in your stomach or esophagus.

Drug Interactions:
Celecoxib (Celebrex);
Diclofenac (Voltaren);
Diflunisal (Dolobid);
Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil);
Indomethacin;
Ketoprofen (Orudis);
Ketorolac (Toradol);
Naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn), piroxicam (Feldene).

08 Aug 2010	I was taking boniva for almost 1 year, and really never wanted to be taking it at all. I looked for other ways to help regain any bone loss, the one thing I always did was lift weights and the other thing that I added and is working is yoga and bikram yoga without using the boniva I have gained bone density according to the test's taken.
