28 Nov 2011 I was prescribed Protonix after Gastrointestinal surgery. I had developed ulcers along the staple line in my small intestines. I had taken Protonix for 2 years with no issues at all. I stopped due to the copay of my insurance and because I felt I no longer needed it. With in a month the burning and pain was back. I tried several over the counter heartburn medications which had very little duration of relief. I ended up spending more money on the quantit of over the counter relief medications than I would hve spent with the Protonix. I have gone back to Protonix and now there is actually a generic replacement that is much cheaper copay.

26 Sep 2011 Protonix provided no relief for my acid reflux and its side affects were not tolerable - like sleeplessness and bowel movement changes.

13 Aug 2010 I cant tell if this medicine is working. I went to my doctor because I was having chest pains. She thinks it's heart burn and gave me these pills. I havent had the pain yet. But I dont think the pain is heart burn related.
