User Comments about Amitriptyline
08 Jul 2014 Up and down. Has not stopped depression completely, but have had bereavement councilling which has helped a lot. Frightened to stop as have tried several times, and have become suicidal, agitated, over anxious and feeling I was not of this world. Have reconciled myself I will be on them forever.

11 Sep 2012 Saved my life. Made me feel normal. Three bad breakdowns over 30 years. Last one, agitated depression. Suicidal, should have been hospitalized. Now though, after all these years, I feel I am dependent onthem, and hooked. Panic at the thought of not having them in my life.

11 Sep 2012 Horrific! I was on the smallest dose. 10mg at night. Felt like I was a total zombie, vision became so bad I could hardly see at night time. Unlike some others, I didn't want to eat at all, the smell of food made me feel very sick. Dry moth bad to begin with. it did help with the pain but the side effects just to severe. This drug could be a blessing, if you're lucky enough to have low or no side effects. Didn't work for me though. Only took for 3 weeks, and the first 3 days were hard to get through after coming off them. All side effects stopped after about a week, and was surprised to see my hand tremors and balance were also much better.

19 Apr 2012 I take amitripytine as a pain relief. It takes the edge off the pain but really makes no difference at all to be honest.
