Common Uses:

This medication is used to treat symptoms caused by too much stomach acid such as heartburn, upset stomach, or indigestion.

Off Label Uses:

None noted currently.

Side Effects:
Constipation, gas, and burping.

Cautions / Warnings:

Not recommended for following conditions:
Who are allergic to it; or to milk or dairy (found in certain brands);
Who have high calcium levels (hypercalcemia), stomach/intestinal blockage;
Who have kidney disease (e.g., kidney stones).

Drug Interactions:
Digoxin;
Certain phosphate binders (e.g., calcium acetate);
Phosphate supplements (e.g., potassium phosphate);
Sodium polystyrene sulfonate.
