Teri Garr (December 11, 1944—) American actress. Teri Garr is well known for her Academy Award-nominated role in the Dustin Hoffman film Tootsie; what's not so well known is that she began noticing some disturbing physical symptoms during the filming in New York City. It took quite a few doctors and a very long time to diagnose her condition correctly, but in 2002 she announced that she had had Multiple Sclerosis for 25 years.

Since going public she's become a leading advocate for raising awareness for the condition and developing new treatments for the disease. She's also served as spokesperson for the drug Rebif.
